The Chinese Embassy in Somalia Holds A Farewell Roundtable for Trainees from Somali Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation

On October 10th, the Chinese Embassy to Somalia held a farewell roundtable for a delegation made up of young officials from Somali Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation who are going to participate in a training program in China. Chinese Ambassador Fei Shengchao, together with Somali State Minister Abdikarim Abdow Haydar of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation and Permanent Secretary Hamza Adan Hadow of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, attended and addressed the roundtable.

Ambassador Fei emphasized that the cooperation in transport sector between China and Somalia has a long history. The more than 1000 km long paved road built by China remains a “main artery” of land transportation for Somalia even today. He said that for recent years, China has made remarkable achievements in the area of transport, and that the Somali trainees will not only enhance their professional capability through the program but also make Chinese friends and contributes to the consolidation of China-Somalia traditional friendship.

State Minister Haydar and Permanent Secretary Hadow spoke highly of China's achievements in transport sector and expressed their sincere gratitude to China for providing valuable training opportunities to officials of the Somali government. They encouraged the delegation to take this opportunity to expand their visions and capability and stay committed to the development of the two countries' friendship.
